About Me
I connect the big idea to the details that make it real.
I'm Cesar, a multidisciplinary designer interested in what happens when strategy and design work together. I build brand identities, digital experiences, and creative systems that help organizations communicate clearly and show up consistently.
I like asking questions, finding the thread that connects an idea to its audience, and figuring out how to turn that thinking into something people can actually use. Good design should look intentional, solve a problem, and work beyond the first presentation

MY JOURNEY
From making the deadline to shaping the bigger picture.
My career started at the American Chemical Society (ACS), working on Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN), where I learned the discipline behind good design. In editorial production, every detail mattered. Typography, hierarchy, accuracy, and coordination all played a role in getting a weekly publication out the door. Deadlines were tight, the process involved many moving parts, and the work had to be right.
That experience shaped how I approach design today. It taught me to respect the craft, stay calm under pressure, and understand that even the strongest creative idea depends on a solid process to bring it to life. Working across editorial, creative, and production teams also showed me how much good work depends on communication and collaboration.
Over time, I became interested in more than how the pieces came together. I wanted to understand the thinking behind them. Why does one visual approach communicate better than another? How can a brand feel consistent across different formats? How can a creative idea move from concept to execution without losing what made it compelling?
Those questions gradually pulled me beyond the page.
At AMT, I moved deeper into brand identity and visual systems, helping unify more than 20 brands and initiatives under a cohesive visual direction. I began to see design as a way to connect an organization's many moving parts, not just make individual pieces look better.
At Major, Lindsey & Africa and Allegis Partners, I applied that thinking to digital experiences and communications. Working across two executive search brands reinforced the importance of balancing brand expression with usability, structure, and the needs of different audiences.
At Armacost Lighting, I moved closer to product marketing and e-commerce, working across a catalog of more than 200 products. From packaging and product imagery to Amazon content, video, and email campaigns, I saw how creative decisions shape the way people understand products, engage with a brand, and make purchasing decisions.
Each chapter expanded my perspective. Today, I bring together the precision of editorial production, the thinking behind brand systems, the structure of digital design, and the practical demands of marketing.
I'm most interested in work that starts with a question, has a clear purpose, and gives design a seat at the table early.
HOW I LIKE TO WORK
Curious by nature. Intentional by design.
I appreciate a good concept, but I'm just as interested in the questions that get us there. I want to understand the problem before jumping into the visuals, challenge assumptions when it helps the work, and collaborate with people who bring different perspectives to the table.
I enjoy moving between the big picture and the details: discussing the purpose of a brand one moment, then refining the typography, layout, or interaction that brings it to life the next.
I'm not interested in making things look different just for the sake of it. I'm interested in making the right things clearer, more memorable, and more useful.
And I believe good collaboration leaves room for curiosity, honest feedback, and a little humor along the way.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Looking for the next good question.
I'm interested in opportunities where design is part of the thinking, not just the final step. The kind of work where brand, content, digital experiences, and business goals inform one another, and where creative people are trusted to contribute ideas as well as execution.
If you're building a brand, rethinking an experience, or trying to turn a complicated idea into something people can connect with, I'd be glad to talk.
